A NOTE FROM DONNA
++++++++++++++++

Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day. While I lived in the South, there didn’t
seem to even be a mention of the holiday. I grew up in Pennsylvania and it
seemed the whole town was green that day. Green candy, green ice cream,
green ties, hats, and clothes, and for those who desired it, there was
plenty of green beer. I did seem to notice as a child, that those who drank
the green beer seemed to be even greener the next morning :-0 Interested in
knowing more about this holiday? http://wilstar.com/holidays/patrick.htm

I love holidays. I’ve been a workaholic most of my life and holidays have
always been a good enough excuse for a break – for a fun day! Even if you
don’t take the whole day for fun, it’s nice to schedule something special.
Holidays present opportunities for family traditions too, and we should
always make time to build memories.

After you’re finished with the festivities, you might want to participate in
another kind of “holiday.” Next Tuesday, March 20th, the 17th Annual Great
American Meatout will be celebrated across the country. There will be
public dinners, cooking demonstrations, a congressional reception, and
information tables set up at supermarkets, schools, and libraries. Read
more about it at http://www.meatout.org

Since they approved cancerous meat for human consumption last year, there
have been many people making every day a “meatout” day. If you didn’t catch
that in one of our previous ezines, you can read about it here:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

HERBS OR DRUGS FOR KIDS?

We’re at a crossroads. We are now discovering that “modern medicine” is not
doing all the good we once thought it did. Drugs are approved too quickly
and we find out years after taking them that there are side effects we
didn’t even know about. It’s time to learn more about doing it a different
way.

GREEN IS GOOD – ALFALFA ROOTS GROW AS DEEP AS 20 FEET

Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants that harnesses the sun’s energy
in photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is to plants what human blood is to humans –
it performs metabolic functions such as respiration and growth.

Interestingly, the chlorophyll molecule is chemically similar to human
blood, except that its central atom is magnesium, whereas that of human
blood is iron. The alfalfa plant is an excellent source to produce a quality
chlorophyll. Alfalfa’s roots grow as deep as 20 feet or more, gathering
rich trace minerals and nutrient that aren’t present in ground level soils.

Chlorophyll is something that will build and cleanse gradually and is a
great way to begin the day. Add it to your drinking water for the day to
maintain energy throughout the day. It’s a great conversation starter if
you walk around with a tall glass of green water. Especially for St.
Patrick’s Day 🙂 Read more: http://www.theherbsplace.com/Chlorophyll_Liquid_16_fl._oz._p_118.html

DO YOU HAVE AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID? FIND OUT AT HOME!

To test yourself for underactive thyroid, keep a thermometer by your bed.
In the morning, place thermometer under your arm and hold for 10-15 minutes
without getting out of bed. A temperature of 97.6 degrees or lower may
indicate hypothyroidism. Take the test for 3-4 days, not during ovulation
time or menses. This test is described by Dr. Broda Barnes, M.D. in his
book, “Hypothyroidism.” Medical studies show that blood tests will not show
evidence of a problem unless the thyroid is 50% underactive.

IS YOUR PET EATING DEAD FOOD?

Find out what is being used in many pet foods, even those
“premium” pet foods. Pets need nutrition to be healthy.
Save on vet bills and heartaches.

GRANDMOTHER IS BETTER – HEARTBURN GONE!

“My grandmother came to visit from Panama. She was having problems with
digestion. The first night she was here, she complained of discomfort after
eating, so I gave her some Food Enzymes. In less than an hour, she came to
me and asked what it was that worked so well. She continued to take them
with meals while she was here and I ordered some for her to take back.
Within a month, she said that a lot of other problems had cleared up. Her
heartburn problem was gone. She regularly had constipation or diarrhea and
that had balanced out fine. In other words, she loves the Food Enzymes.
She thought she had to live with these problems for the rest of her life,
but has now learned that digesting your food properly relates to many areas
of health.” Giselle A.

CLEAN WITHOUT BLEACH

“I just mopped the kitchen floor in a gallon of water, a squirt of Sunshine
Concentrate and 7 drops of Lemon Essential Oil. I really like using bleach
because it disinfects, but I know it is so bad, so I’m trying the Lemon Oil
which smells so wonderful that it makes my mouth water! A really nice
benefit is that the floor is not sticky or slippery which is the typical
problem with chemical floor cleaners and the bleach leaves a residue that i
have to rinse off. No rinsing with Sunshine Concentrate and Lemon Oil. It
sure is nice to smell lemon and feel refreshed after mopping the floor
instead of dazed out from bleach vapors.” Robin

After you get things moving, you can even attack those pesky “critters” that
hide out in murky places. Don’t go after the parasites until you get things
clear and moving in the colon. Here’s a favorite parasite fighter for
people and pets. It’s part of the heartworm program for pets.

ARTEMISIA COMBINATION
Improved Intestinal Parasite Fighter

Artemisia Combination contains elecampane, mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris)
vegetable fiber, spearmint, turmeric, ginger, garlic, clove and wormwood
(Artemisia Absinthium). Artemisia is used in China, Europe and U.S. for its
anti-parasitic qualities.

Artemisia contains about 12% of thujone, an oil that can stun roundworms,
which can then be expelled by normal bowel elimination. Elecampane contains
a alantolactone to expel parasites and kill some bacteria and fungi. It is
used against a variety of intestinal parasites including amoebic dysentery,
pinworms, hookworms, giardiasis.

SPLENDA (Sucralose) – IS IT SAFE?

From Holistic Med site:
http://www.holisticmed.com/splenda/

This artificial sweetener is a chlorinated sucrose derivative. Pre-approval
research showed that sucralose caused shrunken thymus glands (up to 40%
shrinkage) and enlarged liver and kidneys.
