Is It God’s Will For You To Be Well?
From the book, "Healing In His Wings"
by Anne Buchanan, Ph.D., M.H.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15 NIV)
If we ask anything according to His will, God hears us. And if we know that He hears us, we know that we have whatever it is that we asked of Him. Why? Because we have already established that what we are asking is according to His will. It is only when we ask for things outside of God’s will that we get into trouble.
It all sounds simple, but, of course, we know from bitter experience that it is not. Satan seeks to get us off the track. He uses our vulnerabilities and weaknesses against us, and he deceives us into believing certain things are God’s will when that is in fact not true. And he also deceives us into believing other things are not God’s will when in fact they are. This is the reason that prayer and meditation are so important. We have to ask God for His direction in all the small questions of our life – as well as the large ones.
You need to get clear in your mind that it is God’s will for you to be well. The prayer, "God, please heal me if it is your will" is a weak prayer because it is doubt-filled. Jesus repeatedly and consistently healed every single person who came to Him. It had to be God’s will for all to be healed because he healed them all and never left one single person sick.
What isn’t clear about God’s will is the way He chooses for your healing to be manifested. Don’t succumb to satan’s tricks and make assumptions about God’s path for your healing. Don’t assume you "should" do anything. Ask before each decision. Then you will be sure to be in alignment with God’s will.
When you are in harmony with God’s will, you know that He has already done what you ask. Therefore, focus on living each day taking action according to your guidance. Regardless of the symptoms you may still feel, live with peace in your heart and joy radiating for all to see. Live your life in faith, knowing that nothing is too hard for God and that He has the perfect plan for your highest good.
Wonderful Jehovah-rapha, I have confidence in You. It is written that You hear anything I ask that is according to Your will. Help me to be patient, Lord, while You work Your perfect will in my healing. Reveal Your guidance to me, and I will obey. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
