Oregano, Wild Pure Essential Oil (Origanum campactum, steam distilled) is stimulating and warming. It contains antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral compounds and is useful for skin conditions.

Dr. Harry G. Preuss's research team collaborated with Dr. Cass Ingram of North American Herb and Spice to conduct testing oregano oil on staphylococcus bacteria. This bacteria is responsible for a variety of severe infections and is becoming increasingly resistant to many antibiotics.

They compared the antibacterial effects of the Oregano Essential Oil on staphylococcus in a test tube with the standard antibiotics streptomycin, penicillin and vancomycin. The Oregano Essential Oil, at relatively low doses, was found to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus in the test tubes as much as the standard antibiotics did.

Recommended Usage
Use a concentration of less than 2 percent (two drops per teaspoon) Oregano oil with other oils.
