We had a very exciting time a couple of weeks ago when we were hit by

GUARANA - MEGA CAFFEINE HERB

Guarana can have a very exhausting effect on your adrenal glands especially
when combined with ephedra (ma huang).

BODILY INFLUENCE: Aphrodesiac, Febrifuge (slightly), Nervine, Stimulant
PART USED: Crushed seeds.

At this time, Guarana is considered to be the richest caffeine worldwide.
Like all plants containing caffeine, it is addictive and can cause all the
unpleasant symptoms found with heavy coffee drinking. Guarana has been
found to contain between 2.6 to 7% caffeine and its action is very similar
to both coffee and cocaine combined. This is due to the caffeine, which is
found in abundance and chemicals similar to cocaine. It certainly has a
stimulant nervine effect. Guarana has 2.5 times the caffeine content of
coffee. Extracts or concentrates of the plant can enrich the caffeine
content 13-21 fold. While Guarana is touted as a natural by many people, it
is a stimulant, like coffee, kola nuts and Chinese tea. It must be
remembered that natural does not necessarily mean non-addictive or safe.

It should always be remembered that Guarana exerts stimulation to the heart
and increases blood flow. When used in combinations of ingredients, as in
the presence of ephedrine, there should be caution. However, any potential
benefits in weight loss with a combination of ephedra & caffeine should be
measured against the potential for addiction and possible harmful side
effects of these two herbs when used in combination with each other. Any use
of this herb should be considered the same as using medically prescribed

TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT? CALCIUM MAY HELP

High levels of calcium have the potential to help with weight and fat loss.
Clinical trials on humans have already demonstrated that a high-calcium,
low- calorie diet results in greater weight loss than a low-calcium,
low-calorie diet, as reported at the Experimental Biology 2000 conference
this past April. Those on the low-calcium, low-calorie diet lost about 11
percent total body weight and 8 percent total body fat. But the high-calcium
groups lost about 20 percent of their body weight and 42 percent of their

A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie
farmer and gets to talking. The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the
Texan says, "Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large."

Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd
of cattle. The Texan immediately says, " We have longhorns that are at least
twice as large as your cows."

The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of
kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks, "And what are those"?
