Stress-J is one of the J-series formulas from the talented herbalist Jeannie Burgess, who also formulated the popular AL-J and LIV-J. She created Stress-J for colon spasms, spastic colitis, nervous headaches, nervous indigestion and as a general calmer and relaxant. It contains four major nervine herbs: chamomile, passion flower, hops and feverfew, plus marshmallow, a soothing and healing herb. We'll consider each of these ingredients. Chamomile is one of the very best nervine herbs. It is widely used in Europe as a soothing tea for nerves and upset stomach. In fact, it is probably consumed regularly by millions of people. Chamomile is a digestive tonic and increases the flow of digestive secretions. It also helps calm the nervous system and relax the body. It has been used historically to aid in withdrawal from tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. It has also been used for anxiety, tension, colitis, migraine headaches, hysteria, cramps, spasms, nervousness, and insomnia. It is a favorite remedy for children. It has been used both herbally and homeopathicly for infants and childhood maladies like: colic, upset tummies, restlessness, teething, fussiness and hyperactivity. The chamomile contains a blue volatile oil which has a proven anti-inflammatory effect as well - concentrated powdered extract. Passion flower is another famous nervine herb. It is primarily used for its tranquilizing and sedative effects, although it also has an antispasmodic action. Hence, it has been widely used as an aid for people who can't sleep. Like chamomile, it has been used to feed the nervous system and help with a wide variety of nervous disorders. In addition, it has a beneficial effect on the nerves which regulate the heartbeat.Hops is famous as an ingredient in beer, but don't worry, you can't get drunk on the herbal hops. Hops contains constituents that stimulate and relax, so it is both a tonic and a relaxant. It has been widely used for nervous disorders such as insomnia, tension, anxiety and restlessness. It has also been used for headaches and indigestion associated with nervous stress. Feverfew is not an herb for fevers as its name might suggest. Its name comes from the name feather foil (referring to its leaves). Later the plant became featherfew and finally feverfew. Even though the plant isn't recommended for fevers, it has received wide acclaim as a remedy for migraine headaches.Studies in Europe suggest that feverfew can prevent or reduce the intensity or frequency of these troublesome headaches. It has also been used for other nervous problems such as nervous indigestion, high blood pressure and menstrual cramps. Claims have been made that the plant is useful in arthritis and psoriasis. It looks a lot like chamomile, belongs to the same family and likely has the same anti-inflammatory and nervine properties. Marshmallow is a mucilaginous herb with soothing and nourishing properties. In Job 30:4 it mentions eating mallows in times of famine. Like other mucilaginous herbs it soothes irritated and inflamed tissue. It is particularly soothing to the tissues of the stomach and bowel, but also has effects on the respiratory and urinary systems as well - concentrated powdered extract. Stress-J would be a good herbal combination for anyone suffering from indigestion, headaches, cramps or bowel problems due to nervous stress. Jeannie Burgess reports it is a very useful formula for relaxing spasms anywhere in the body, but especially in the colon. Recommended dosage is 2- 4 capsules every four hours.

Customer Comments ADD - "Somebody recommended Stress-J for my 8-year-old son's ADD problem. This was my first exposure to herbs, but I didn't like the effects the Ritalin was having on him, so I was willing to try something natural. I couldn't believe how much difference the herbs made and neither could he. He is now off the Ritalin and he keeps his herbs at the school office and has permission to take them as he feels he needs them. What a difference in our home life and teacher relationships!" M. Bishop ADHD - "I decided to try herbs for my 4-year-old hyperactive-ADD son. I began using VAL EXTRACT and Stress-J LIQUID since he couldn't swallow pills. I used 10 drops of each 3 times a day. We also changed his diet eliminating sugar and red coloring. In 2 months we noticed a difference; now 6 months later we don't have a problem as long as we use the herbs. One day I forgot the herbs when I dropped him off at the day care center. There was panic in his eyes and in his teacher's eyes. They both knew how key these herbs were to his well-being." G.W. EAR PROBLEMS - "A lady had been deaf for 45 years. Taking 4 ALJ 4-5 times a day for allergies, she was beginning to hear. She added Stress-J for the nerves. Before long hearing was completely restored." J.B. "My grandson's hearing test came back with a hearing loss of 30%. At 4 he had tubes put in his ears. We didn't want that again, so I used CHLOROPHYLL, ECHINACEA & ALJ. In 4 weeks the test was normal." Ruby G. HYPERACTIVITY - "Our grandson was in the first grade LD Class on Ritalin. The doctor said you can't get off of it. He and his parents wanted him off of it. He spent the summer at our place and we agreed to take him immediately off the Ritalin supporting his body with ATC CA (an herbal calcium, taking 2 or 3-4x/day) and Stress-J (4 or 5- 5x/day). We also eliminated all sugar. He returned to school in the fall and made A/B Honor Roll." L. Allred MIGRAINE HEADACHES - "I have suffered from migraines since I was 13. I get the "classic" type with auras, foggy vision, neon geometric shapes in my field of vision, nausea, and acute sensitivity to light and sound. I stumbled onto the solution when I took 4 Stress-J for a tension headache. Within an hour it was gone. So, at the first sign of my next migraine, which was 8 a.m. one morning, I took 4 Stress-J , 2 FEVERFEW and 2 GINGER (for the nausea) and laid back down for about an hour until the symptoms were gone. About three hours later I took the same and continued to repeat this every 3 hours till bed. The migraine never returned. I've been suffering from migraines for 20 years and now I control them instead of them controlling me." Cheri A.
SHINGLES - "My child was six years old and began having "skin problems." We had a neighbor who was a dermatologist so I took him down there and he said it was shingles. I'd heard nightmare stories about that and he did inform me that since he was so young and had them, he would have problems with them for the rest of his life. I was already familiar with what herbs could do so he began taking HSN-W to feed the skin, Stress-J and NUTRI CALM for the nerves and VS-C to kill the herpes virus. In two weeks it was totally cleared up and it's been four years now and he's never had another problem. I'm thankful for what the herbs are able to do for the body." K.J.
ANXIETY ATTACKS
"I wanted to let you know I think the Stress-J is working! I ran out on vacation and started feeling a little uneasy when I get up (I have mild to severe anxiety/panic attacks when I wake up). So, I ordered again and hope I will notice the difference again. I also order the liquid for my daughter. She has always suffered with tummy trouble. Had her checked out and they don't find a problem, so I think it's a combination of foods and stress. Looked at the website and thought this would be great for her, especially since she is not good with pills. She also just started high school and we all remember how those days can be. Best to you and your great products!" Chris
