Essential Oil Recipes - Specific Health Issues

PMS Bath

Run hot bath and then add to the tub:

3 drops Geranuim Essential Oil
4 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
4 drops Clary Sage

For soft skin and moisturizing bath, add 1 t. Massage Oil or olive oil.

Stir into the bath water as you enter and relax for 30 minutes inhaling the aromas.

Bug Bites & Sunburns

Fill 4 oz. spray bottle with Nature's Fresh

Add 1/4 tsp of powdered Vitamin C Ascorbates

Add 4 drops (per your preference and bottle size) of Lavender Essential Oil

Add 1-2 drops of Helichrysum Essential Oil (optional: for pain and/or fast healing)

Guardian Spritzer To Keep Your Immune System Perky

2 oz. Bottle with Sprayer
3 T. Purified Water
1 T. Colloidal Silver
 40 drops Guardian Essential Oil Blend

Mix these ingredients in the bottle and shake each time before using.  This formula provides immune protection while the world around you is sick.  It's a natural germ killer and can be used in sick rooms, bathrooms, airplanes, hotel rooms and in bedrooms at night while you sleep.  Spray it on your pillow.  The benefits will be carried throughout your body by the bloodstream if you rub it into your feet.  During the day you can rub into your arms or spray on your face (with eyes closed).  It not only offers protection, but a pleasant aroma.

Female Blend

12 drops Rose
12 drops Bergamot
24 drops Clary Sage

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to skin for absorption.

Candida Blend

30 drops Lavender Oil
15 drops Myrrh
8 drops Tea Tree Oil

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to skin for absorption.

Antiseptic Blend

40 drops Lavender Oil
20 drops Tea Tree Oil
10 drops Roman Chamomile
10 drops Lemon

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to skin close enough to your nose for you to enjoy the protective benefits as you breathe.  This is a relaxing blend that can be used to encourage rest while one's immune system is fighting the battle.

Stuffy Sinuses

6 drops Eucalyptus
3 drops Lemon
3 drops Neroli

Eucalyptus breaks up congestion while Lemon and Neroli harmonize and balance body and mind.

Add to bathwater as you enter, soak and breathe in the aromas.  Tei Fu blend can be carried in your purse to use conveniently outside of the bath tub and can easily be shared with others.

Blood Pressure Relaxant

10 drops Lemon
10 drops Sweet Marjoram
10 drops Ylang Ylang
30 drops Clary Sage

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to skin for absorption.

Relaxing Blend

50 drops Mandarin
25 drops Lavender Oil
12 drops Sweet Marjoram
5 drops Sandalwood

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to skin close enough to your nose for you to enjoy the benefits of the aroma.

Athlete's Foot

5 drops Massage Oil
2 drops Tea Tree
1 drop Lavender

Mix in the palm of your hand and apply to feet and between toes.  Use at least twice a day.

Premenstrual Tension

10 drops Ylang Ylang
10 drops Clary Sage
10 drops Lavender

Add to the bathwater already in the tub. Bathe in this daily when symptoms begin and/or you can apply to skin.

Binge-Eating

In the morning bath, add 10 drops each of Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang oils. Soak. The euphoric effects of the oils will elevate your mood, making you feel good about yourself.

You can also add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use on the skin outside of the bathtub.

Colds-Flu

10 drops Eucalyptus
10 drops Pine

Add to the bath or put on section of paper towel so you can benefit by inhalation. Inhale frequently. Place on pillow beside nose.  This opens the sinuses and helps clear the head of congestion. Eucalyptus is also a natural antiseptic.

General Earache

Warm 1 teaspoon of Massage Oil and add 1 drop of Chamomile, and 1 drop of Lavender, mix it well. Then soak a cotton ball in the mixture and plug your ear with it.

Dilute the following oils in 1 teaspoon of Massage Oil to massage around the ear area, up the neck and across the cheekbone.
3 drops Chamomile
1 drop Lavender
1 drop Tea Tree

Quit Smoking

10 drops Massage Oil
10 drops Thyme
10 drops Ylang Ylang
10 drops Pine

Add drops to empty amber bottle and keep nearby to inhale often.  You can rub some under the nose to benefit from aroma without the bottle.

One person who quit smoking with this essential oil formula, and using Lobelia, said that the smell of this combination made his mouth water like a cigarette does and was very satisfying to him.  Reported by Louise Allred

Constipation

15 drops Rosemary
10 drops Lemon
5 drops Peppermint

Dilute the above oils in 2 tablespoon Massage Oil or vegetable oil. Massage in a counter-clockwise direction over lower abdomen three times per day.

Aching Joints

Add 10-20 drops of Eucalyptus to the bath water and soak. 

Tei Fu blend can be used in place of this in the bath or topically on the joints. It comes in a small purse or pocket-size bottle for easy use and easy to share with others too.

Stress Blend

30 drops Bergamot
10 drops Geranuim
10 drops Ylang Ylang

Headache Bath

Before you lay down in bed, take refuge in a Lavender bath. Lavender has now been shown to relieve tension headaches and some types of migraines. Fill the tub with warm water and add 8 drops of lavender oil as you enter. Close your eyes and breathe deeply as you relax. Tei Fu Oils is also a great choice you can carry in your purse.

Stay Awake Driving Mist Spray

Add 2 T. water (preferably distilled but not necessary) to a Bottle With Sprayer and add the following:

20 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
15 drops Lemon Essential Oil
10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

Spray the mist inside the car away from your eyes as you drive to stay awake. Inhale to get the full benefits.

Menstrual Cramps

10 drops Roman Chamomile EO
5 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil
15 drops Thyme Essential Oil

Put 4 tablespoons of Massage Oil in a bottle and add the above oils. Shake and rub the mixture over the abdomen starting near the navel and working in small to larger circles. Repeat 3 times. Peppermint and Lavender are also useful.

Sinus and Respiratory Congestion

Boil 2 cups of water and remove from burner. Add 2-3 drops of Breathe Free essential oil. Place a towel over your head and inhale for 5 minutes. Be careful - essential oils may irritate the eyes - keep them closed. Clearing and stimulating.

Dental Abscess Recipe

Use 1 drop of Roman Chamomile on your finger and apply to abscess. Then make the following recipe and massage into jaw and cheek area:
1 teaspoon Massage Oil
3 drops Lavender
2 drops Tea Tree

Studying Alertness and Retention

To increase alertness and retention when studying and taking exams, blend this formula in a Roll-on Bottle so you can carry it with you. Massage blend into the back of the neck and shoulders while studying and apply to neck during exams, wiping the last of it across your chin to be inhaled.

1 T. Massage Oil or olive oil
5 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
5 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
4 drops Clove Essential Oil

Ear Infection

Warm 1 teaspoon of Massage Oil and add 3 drops of Tea Tree and 2 drops of Lavender, mix it well. Then soak a cotton ball in the mixture and plug your ear with it.

To 1 teaspoon of Massage Oil add
3 drops Tea Tree
1 drop Thyme
2 drops Lavender

Massage around the ear area, down the neck to drain the lymph, and across the cheekbone.
Foot and Toenail Fungus

Mix 2 drops of Tea Tree Oil and 1 drop of Lavender Oil in your palm and spread it between the toes and around the nails. For the rest of the feet, mix 5 drops Tea Tree Oil and 1 drop Lemon EO in 1 teaspoon of Massage Oil (or olive oil) and rub on the feet morning and night. Keep the feet dry and use only cotton or wool socks.

Study Aid

7 drops Massage Oil
5 drops Rosemary
1 drop Peppermint

Mix in the palm of your hand and apply to neck, face and hands to provide the aromatic properties that promote alertness and ability to focus.

Healthy Teeth & Gums Tooth Powder

3 T. white or green clay
1 T. salt

Mix the clay and salt in a small container with a lid wide enough for you to dip the toothbrush into. Then add 6 drops Peppermint Essential Oil, put the lid on and shake well. Place on counter and tap top to remove any clinging to the lid. When ready to use, dip a wet toothbrush into the powder & brush.

Headache Blend

25 drops Lavender
25 drops Sweet Marjoram
6 drops Peppermint

Add drops to empty amber bottle and fill with any carrier oil or massage oil for use.  Apply to neck, forehead and temples. 

Tei Fu is also a great choice you can carry in your purse. Tei Fu Lotion can also be used to massage in for muscles and various pains.

Lice Remover

8 drops Geranium Essential Oil
7 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
1 tablespoon Jojoba Oil

This formula helps kill lice and nourish the hair and scalp.  Mix and massage the entire formula vigorously into the hair and scalp before bedtime.  Wrap a towel around the head with plastic cap if possible, and leave on overnight.  Repeat nightly until all lice are gone.  (From "500 Formulas for Aromatherapy" by Carol & David Schiller)

Diverticulosis

The inflammation, pain, flatulence, and discomfort of this condition
are effectively eased by using this essential oil recipe, but
nutritional habits must be examined to ensure there is no recurrence
of the problems. Mix these essential oils with 1 teaspoon of olive
oil or some other natural cold-pressed oil.

3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1 drop Chamomile Essential Oil
1 drop Clove Essential Oil

Rub the blend over the abdomen twice a day. Multiply the drops by 12 and mix with 1/4 cup olive oil if you don't want to mix it for each
application.
