Clove oil can be used in a carrier oil for any infection. It has been used in the dental industry for years to deaden pain. According to a study at the University of Iowa, compounds in clove oil have shown "strong activity." It contains antimicrobial and antiviral compounds.

Some of its uses have been for arthritis, aphrodisiac, bronchitis, dental infections, fatigue, headache, hiccups, infections, insect bites, mentally stimulating, mouth ulcers and sore gums, nausea, relaxing and sleep-inducing, sinus congestion, stimulates dreams, toothache, viral hepatitis, viruses, and warts.
