The PCO unit (the nano particle generator) will need to be replaced. The cost is $99.95.

2. Is it hard to replace the PCO unit?
No, the cover is unscrewed, the old unit is removed, the new unit snapped into place and then the cover replaced and screwed back.

3. What is up with the 3 year no-maintenance and 1 year warranty on the PCO unit? The PCO unit may not last 3 years if your air quality conditions are abnormally difficult. The inventor of the product lives in an extremely dusty and windy conditions and has never had to replace a nano generator in less than 3 years.

4. How do I know this actually sanitizes the air?
