TIRED OF SOAP SCUM IN YOUR TUBS AND SHOWERS?

I've been using Sunshine Concentrate for years for so many areas of household cleaning and laundry. It not only makes cleaning simpler, but in some ways saves having to clean at all, like in the shower. We used to have a problem with soap scum on the shower door. We moved to VA almost 4 years ago and I've been using Sunshine Concentrate in the shower as a shower gel with some favorite essential oils in it (which are also anti-bacterial). I haven't had to clean my shower at all except for the base around the drain and there's not a sign of soap scum on the glass door. Recently we received an exciting email from a customer who bought this so it got me to thinking that I should share my excitement with you too. Nature's Sunshine has over 500 products, but there are a few that are my favorites! Sunshine Concentrate is one of them.

DONNA'S COMMENTS

Our peonies are blooming now and they are so magnificent! Huge deep rose
blooms that just hang down weighted with their glory and glimmer. I've been
cutting some to give to my neighbors and to enjoy in the house. The deer
have considered these two bushes the salad bar for the first two years after
we planted them. I thought I'd never see a bloom, but they have been worth
all the pampering.

We had some sweet Purple Finches fledge from our front porch a couple weeks
ago. That was a real joy. I had hung a wreat at the top of one of the
posts after it had dried out from the Holidays. I thought it would provide
a nice roosting spot for the winter. When it got warm, the finches kept
checking it out, so I added a cardboard backing and they began building the
next day.

Watching those babies open that big mouth and stretch that long neck for the
food from Mama and Papa made me think about how much we depend on nature to
survive. I love to see the sunshine streaming across a room and to hear the
birds sing in the mornings and the frogs in the night. If all of the sounds
of nature were silent, I would be stretching my neck for nourishment too.
They add so much to my life.

We discovered another nesting family in one of our nestboxes last night.
Haven't determined what it is yet. Heard the faint cries of the babies
after the mama flew back out. We'll be watching carefully this evening from
a bench nearby.

Enjoy!
Donna

CRITTER FACTS

ARE YOU "BUSY AS A BEE?"

The busiest bees are the worker bees that gather nectar to make into honey,
build the wax combs, defend the hive and feed the queen and the larvae in
the combs. As if that weren't enough, when the hive gets too warm, they
cool things down by flapping their wings - up to 11,000 flaps per minute. A
big hive will include as many as 60,000 worker bees!VIRTUAL JUNGLE
Could you survive the jungle?

Jungles are the world?s powerhouses, the most vital habitats on the planet.
They only cover 6% of the Earth, but they contain more than half of its
plant and animal species living in a complex web of relationships. Without
jungles, the planet would grind to a halt.

So what makes them so special? View this online presentation and explore
the Virtual Jungle to learn more about its structure, life cycles and
survival in the jungle.

KEEPING BIRD FEEDERS CLEAN.

Cleaning your bird feeders once a month, year round, is important for the
health of the birds. A fungi that grows in feeders can cause respiratory
infections in birds. Hummingbird feeders should be cleaned every four days.
Here's a non-toxic cleaning plan that may make this easier for you.

BIRDING FACTS

Ask anyone and they'll tell you that North America has gone to the birds!
And, from the standpoint of public interest in birdwatching and birding,
it's true. By one estimate, the percentage of birdwatching Americans grew
from just 4% in 1970 to an amazing 56% by 1985. And there has been no sign
of a let-up since then. According to the Southern Research Station, birding
is second only to gardening as a leisure pursuit and has grown by 155% over
the last 12 years.

As part of this trend, home backyard birding has taken off as more and more
homeowners discover the pleasures of attracting songbirds to their
backyards. It is estimated that the amount spent by Americans on birdseed
and feeding equipment exceeds $12 billion annually. Birds are big business
and a major hobby throughout North America.

WILDLIFE GARDENING COURSE OFFERED FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

Some bats are beneficial and some birds can drive a person batty. "Wildlife
Gardener," a new elementary school curriculum, can help children learn how
to get along with critters in the city.

" As Wildlife Gardeners, children will gain a greater understanding and
stronger appreciation for the wildlife part of their local community," Randy
Seagraves, Junior Master Gardener National Curriculum coordinator said.
" Through novel, hands-on learning, they will discover how to garden for
wildlife while strengthening skills in math, science, language and social
studies."

GREEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

The Environmental Media Association (EMA) mobilizes the entertainment
industry in a global effort to educate people about environmental issues and
inspire them into action. EMA was created in 1989, as a non-profit 501(c)3,
with the simple but powerful concept that through television and film, the
entire entertainment community could influence the environmental awareness
of millions of people.

Through the use of weaving environmental messages within entertainment
programming and utilizing "celebrity" for positive role modeling, EMA
continues to have a profound effect on how the public receives environmental
information. EMA was founded by some of the biggest names in film and
television world, who help EMA serve as a valuable link between the
entertainment industry and the environmental community.

You sent the springs into the valleys; they are flowing between the hills.
They give drink to every beast of the field; the mountain asses come to them

The birds of the air have their resting-places by them, and make their song

CAPTIVE-BRED PHILIPPINE EAGLE RELEASED

The first Philippine eagle born in captivity flew into conservation history
books Thursday when it was released into the wild, raising hopes for the
future of one of the world's most endangered birds.

The bird, a 15-month-old male eagle named Kabayan, was released from his
cage at the Mount Apo Nature Reserve on the southern Philippines island of
Mindanao, flying to a nearby tree where it sat examining its new habitat.
Kabayan is one of 14 Philippine eagles ? one of the world's largest species
of bird ? which have been successfully bred in captivity at the Philippine
Eagle Center just outside the island's Davao City.

Like the American bald eagle, the Philippine eagle has become the national
symbol of its country.

Mindanao is thought to be one of only three islands where the eagle, which
has a wingspan of up to eight feet and takes six to seven years to mature,
is known to exist. Much of its natural forest habitat was destroyed by war,
logging and agriculture.

Salvador said no one knows exactly how many Philippine eagles still exist in
the wild now. "The guess is about 500 pairs. But every day their natural
habitat is getting smaller and smaller," he said.

He said the aim of the project is to develop a viable gene pool "so we can
release offspring back into the wild to help complement the wild
population."
