CLEAN START COLON CLEANSE

Colon health is a major concern for people today. The colon is designed to
eliminate waste and toxins from the body, like those found in many of
today's processed foods. Unfortunately, processed foods don't supply your
body with the essential enzymes and fiber it needs to eliminate these
toxins. This can result in a buildup of toxic material in your colon, which
can lead to poisoning or disease.

To help protect your body from common colon toxins that deplete and degrade
your health, Nature's Sunshine's CleanStart cleansing and detoxifying
program provides the most complete and balanced herbal cleanse available.

THOSE AMAZING BIRDS!

PESTICIDE THAT KILLS BIRDS IS WITHDRAWN

In March 2003, drug and chemical manufacturer Bayer announced its intention
to voluntarily withdraw fenthion (used under the trade name Baytex) from the
market. EPA has now approved this withdrawal and has set a deadline for all
sales to end by June 30, 2004, and all uses to end by November 30, 2004.
For more than two years American Bird Conservancy (ABC) has led a campaign
to remove fenthion from the market due to its extreme toxicity to birds. In
collaboration with Defenders of Wildlife and the Florida Wildlife
Federation, ABC filed a law suit against EPA in 2002, citing violations of
the Endangered Species Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act in the
continued use of this highly toxic organophosphate pesticide, which is used
to kill adult mosquitoes in four Florida counties. Fenthion has been
implicated in the deaths of hundreds of birds in Florida including an
endangered Piping Plover.

In the past, fenthion was sold for many different uses, including flea and
tick shampoos for dogs, as well as its formulation to kill birds, marketed
as the "Rid-a-Bird Perch." However, these products were removed from the
market due to concerns regarding human and animal health.

"We applaud Bayer and EPA for this decision. There is simply no
justification for using fenthion when safer, equally effective alternatives
exist for controlling mosquitoes and protecting the health of people,
animals and the environment," said ABC‚s Dr. Patti Bright.

WILD BIRD HABITAT

Wild bird habitat shrinks every day -- both globally and locally -- and many
species of birds have exhibited frightening declines in numbers, even over
the past several years.

Creating a landscape desirable to birds is not difficult, but requires some
understanding of natural habitat. A typical tidy suburban landscape with a
closely mowed lawn surrounded by a line of sheared shrubs of all the same
species provides little interest to wild birds.

A diverse landscape is more naturalistic and provides attractive habitat for
a great variety of birds. When creating a bird habitat, certain needs must
be provided for.

OCEAN PRODUCING ENERGY

Alternative energy producers are looking at the moon and ocean waves and
seeing salvation for a nation's energy crisis. The recently devised Davis
Hydro Turbine works like an underwater windmill forming a tidal fence in the
water. The device's designers, based at Blue Energy Inc., in Vancouver,
British Columbia, claim it can meet up to 40 percent of the world's
electrical needs while not harming the environment or depending on solar
cycles.

The turbine looks something like a windowless, slow revolving door. The
units drop into the water and are fixed to the ocean floor. The unit then
uses the natural ebb and flow created by the surging and sucking of the
water's energy to produce energy.

The fence rotates at about three miles per hour, so, its creators claim, no
fish would be harmed. Building a fence of fences could produce even more
energy, according to Blue Energy spokesman Michael Maser.

GOOD NEWS STORY

FLYING RABBIT JUMPS GREAT PYRENEES DOG
Now that I have your interest by the title, thought you would enjoy a little
nature story from a friend of mine and a subscriber to this ezine. I have
read it several times and just laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Hope it
encourages you to take a daily walk somewhere in the "wild" near your home.
Enjoy!!

I have many adventures and fun things that happen on my daily hikes but this
has been the best! I had just started the climb up the old logging road in
back of our place. Annie, our Great Pyrenees, started sniffing like crazy
and going wild. That's why I keep her on a leash or she'll take off chasing
bears, cougars, whatever! I knew something had just been on the road by the
way she was wanting to take off, so, I kept my eyes up ahead, watching and
expecting something to come out and show themselves. I had just seen bear
tracks the day before......I mean that day tracks.

There was a corner just up ahead and I was intently watching when all of a
sudden this jack rabbit comes barreling around the corner running like his
life depended on it. I mean I have never seen anything move so fast!!! He
was coming straight at us and not slowing down. I thought, "He's going to
veer off any second now." But he just kept coming and not slowing down a
bit. I started to laugh out loud cause he looked so funny. I couldn't help
it. I know the poor thing was scared out of his wits, something had to be
chasing him. I was watching behind him expecting something else to come
around that corner. Here I am laughing cause this poor rabbit looked so
funny running like he was.

I thought he must be blind.......doesn't he see us? Here we were, a human,
a little dog, a medium-size dog, and a HUGE dog all stopped in our tracks
just waiting and watching him come charging towards us.

I wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it for myself. This rabbit kept
running until he got right in front .... and I mean right in front of Annie.
Annie was to my right. This rabbit didn't slow down a bit and took a flying
leap .... I mean a "flying leap" over Annie. I could have reached out and
touched this rabbit; he was so close to me.

I don't know how far or high rabbits can jump, but I'm telling you this
rabbit broke ALL records. It was like I was watching this in slow motion.
All the dogs and I slowly turned as this rabbit flew by....and he really did
fly. It was so funny, you should have seen his legs. The front ones were
out in front like he was flying. He jumped past my other dog that was in
back of me since she was back there a ways.

I bet that rabbit is still running. I just stood there laughing my head
off. I couldn't believe what I just saw. My dogs didn't try to chase it or
anything. They just stood there staring after the rabbit too, like they
couldn't believe it either!! I sure thank the Lord for letting me be there
at that time. Never did see what was chasing that rabbit. I figured I
scared it away with all my laughing. That rabbit jumped as high as I'm tall
or even taller and his leap was SO LONG. It was so much fun seeing that.
